At Dogwood Animal Hospital and Pet Resort in the Brandon/Flowood area, we treat your pet like they’re one of our own. Comprehensive Exams And Preventative Care
During your pet’s yearly exam, we’ll go over your pet’s medical records to make sure everything is normal. We’ll then examine every part of his body and perform a blood test to rule out heartworm and other medical conditions. Since your pet can’t speak, we do an in-depth checkup of his eyes and skin, nose and mouth, and weigh him so he can leave with a clean bill of health.
Vaccinations
It’s important to have your pet vaccinated once a year, especially for rabies. We also vaccinate your pet for other canine and feline viruses as needed.
Surgery
Your pet’s surgery can be stressful for you and your pet, but rest assured that your pet is in great hands. One of our veterinarians will make sure your pet is comfortable before and after surgery. Our spay and neutering procedures are performed regularly, and the recovery period is fairly short. If at any time your pet experiences complications such as loss of appetite and vomiting, don’t hesitate to call us and bring him in for an examination.

Dental care for your dog or cat is very important for his overall health. Dogs and cats need regular teeth cleaning to avoid infections and rotten teeth. Some of these dental infections can move into the bloodstream and affect the heart and other organs, so be sure to get the proper dental care for your furry friend.
